It’s finally time.
As I’ve progressed through the Interactive Media and Communications program, I have produced many creative works that are a testament to both my creativity and growth as a creator. I have expanded my knowledge and skill set in the areas of digital and social media literacy as well as successful communication of ideas through different projects, assignments, and experiences. As of now, a lot of my works and projects are all over the place because I did not invest in enough time to organize my page.

At present, the creation of an authentic portfolio to replace a website that was used only for showing my work as an online presence represents my transition from having an online exhibit dedicated solely to me to an exhibit that authenticates who I am and what I can do! It is through the portfolio that I can effectively communicate the journey of my life’s accomplishments and the things that have made me who I am today. Furthermore, a portfolio also allows me to promote my creativity, way of thinking, and capability of solving problems.
Creating this portfolio will require building a cohesive relationship between everything within the portfolio. This means that everything that has been added to the portfolio has meaning behind it. For each item within the portfolio, I will provide an explanation for why it is included: (project goals; level of involvement; and thoughts learned as a result). These explanations will not only improve the overall aesthetic quality of the portfolio, they will also supply additional visual evidence of my career advancement by contributing to my understanding of the visual representation.

Another key area of concentration is making sure my portfolio is organized in a way that makes it easy for anyone who looks at it to get a sense of all my work without overwhelming them with information and have a clear visual structure for them to follow as they go through it.
I want my portfolio to make it easy for people to identify my best work so that they don’t become overwhelmed with the amount of work I have in my portfolio.
I also want to continue looking for new ways to create this portfolio as a representation of who I am.
As I continue building my portfolio, I learn how to better organize my projects and works based on courses, topics, and skillsets. New projects, new skills, and new experiences will shape it. But for now, this is the beginning of something more purposeful—a space that not only displays what I’ve done, but also reflects who I am becoming.
